Welcome Back! |
Sept. 22, 2008
Welcome back to your Sophomore Year!
To start off the year, I would like to invite you to a special welcome back event planned just for sophomores: Sophomore Sundaes, this Wednesday evening at 6:30 in the new banquet room in Hicks Center. (Haven't found the banquet hall before? When you go into Hicks, go down to the left into the hall past the bookstore; the banquet room will be on your right.)
This is a great opportunity to eat some ice cream, catch up with your friends from last year, and make some new ones! In addition, I'll be introducing some people from the CIP*, the CCD**, and Student Development who can play a key role in helping you this year. (Forgotten all the acronyms on campus over the summer? CIP = Center for International programs; CCD = Center for Career Development.) Remember that the sophomore year is your year for:
As you can see, the sophomore year is a year of important decisions, but it also a year of great leadership opportunities. With many of the juniors on study abroad, and with many seniors living off-campus, sophomore year can be a time to participate, contribute, and lead!
I look forward to seeing you this Wednesday, 6:30pm, in the new Hicks banquet hall.
