Sophomore Year --
Explorations, The K Plan, and
Making K Your Own

The sophomore year is a year of exploring academic fields and other aspects of the "K Plan" -- particularly study abroad opportunities and career development options. It is also a year of great leadership opportunities. With many of the juniors on study abroad, and with many seniors living off-campus, your sophomore year can be a time to participate, contribute, and lead!

In addition to taking classes and participating in extra-curricular activities, there are three important themes of the sophomore year:

  • Declaring a major.
  • Choosing where and when to go on study abroad (or whether to remain at K during your junior year).
  • Exploring internship and externship opportunities.

Each quarter, as Dean of the Sophomore Class, I will put together information on special events, requirements, or due-dates of special relevance to sophomores during that quarter, focusing particularly on the three themes mentioned above.

I hope you have a great year!
