Post-Quantum Cryptography Reflection
In class we discussed some of the basics of post-quantum cryptography.
Please reflect on the following prompts, giving your personal
understanding of the material. The book has a good overview of this
material. If you choose to use AI to help you with this, please
acknowledge this. I am not looking for a summary of the PQC material - I can
find that on Wikipedia. I am looking for
your intellectual
understanding of it. To receive credit, your reflection must include at least one
personal connection to something you previously knew, or something that
has piqued your interest, or even parts of this material that are
confusing or not easy for you to understand.
An AI can
summarize the material but it cannot articulate your personal
evolution as a student in this class!
- Discuss why we need post-quantum cryptography, along with the
difference between post-quantum cryptography and quantum
cryptography. Your discussion should include the significance of
Shor's Algorithm and Grover's Algorithm.
- Discuss a (small) example of the LWE problem and indicate why
this is a good problem to use for PQC.
- Discuss any concerns you have about PQC. These could include
understanding the approaches, or implementation of the
approaches, or something different.
