Marine Biology Simulation

For this assignment you will be working with the Marine Biology Simulation (MBS) case study.^†  The first set of exercises deals with software testing.  The second set deals with modifying the Fish class.

Software Testing

• Testing the behavior of the Fish class:  Do the exercises in Exercise Set 5 on p. 45 of the MBS case study, documenting your results, answers to the questions, and your test case design.  When you use a seed, be sure to set the seed before reading in the environment configuration file.
   
• Testing the modified Fish class with breeding and dying: Do Exercises 1 and 2 on p. 61 of the MBS case study, documenting your results and answering the explicit questions.  You may use the version of Fish in the DynPop folder, or you may apply the changes in FishModsForChap3.txt to your own copy of the Fish class.

Modifying the Fish Class

• Analyzing Fish Breeding Behavior: Do Exercise 6 on p. 61 of the MBS case study. You may look at your output to determine minimum and maximum values; you do not need to do the calculations of the extreme values in your code. 
   
• Aging Fish: Do Exercises 7 - 8 on pp. 61 - 62 of the MBS case study. For Exercise 7, you may look at your output to determine minimum and maximum values; you do not need to do the calculations of the extreme values in your code.  For Exercise 8, develop a test plan to thoroughly test your modifications.  As always, make sure you have documented your modifications.

When you are finished, you should turn in your results for all the exercises, including your modified Fish class and your test plan.
