Sophomore Winter --
Early Deadlines

January 13, 2009

Dear Sophomores,

Here's a belated welcome back to Winter Quarter!

REMINDERS OF TWO VERY IMPORTANT DEADLINES in the next 2 days:

  1. STUDY ABROAD APPLICATIONS for long-term (6-month) and extended-term (9-month) programs are due THIS THURSDAY at 5pm in the Center for International Programs!

  2. MLK ESSAY CONTEST: I've attached the description for this year's MLK Essay Contest. This is an annual student essay contest associated with the College's Martin Luther King, Jr., Day Celebration. The deadline for essays this year is TOMORROW, WEDNESDAY at 5pm. Please see the description for more information about the topic, length, and other details.

I will send another email in the next week with information about other events and opportunities coming up this quarter.

I hope this quarter is a healthy and productive one for you, as well as being a busy one! I challenge you to find ways to bring some color into your life, since the sun isn't likely to help in that regard, and to make time for friends and fun activities (and sleep), as well as for studying. You'll hear from me soon!
